What we are trying to do
This site helps people discover work that may be accessible through skills, a portfolio, certifications, or relevant experience instead of one fixed academic route. It is a starting point for exploration—not a promise that every employer will waive a degree requirement.
The career explorer is designed around the questions people actually ask: What would I make? How would I spend my day? Who would I work with? How difficult is the path to enter?
Who publishes it
You Don't Need a Degree is built and published by Lidema Studios. The site does not accept payment to rank an occupation, and sponsored resources do not influence the career dataset.
What the title means
It means a four-year degree is not the only credible route into useful, well-paid work. It does not mean education is unimportant, that degrees never help, or that regulated professions can ignore licensing rules. Several paths in the explorer have a medium or high barrier because experience, certifications, licensing, or formal education may still be expected.
